Youths learn the secrets of the hard drive
May 1, 2014
Fifteen Gila Valley youths learned how to take apart and rebuild a computer, protect and use programs during the Techie Camp on Feb. 8 at the Boys & Girls Club. At the end of the day, each student took home their newly rebuilt hard drives, flat-screen monitors, keyboards and mouses.
AZStruts (Students Recycling Used Technology), a Mesa-based company, recently donated 20 refurbished computers to the Boys and Girls Club of the Gila Valley, and on Saturday, they taught kids how to successfully use their own computers.
The company also brought up 15 additional computers for the attendees to work on and then take home as their own.
